People say: ‘this is the most pointless question during a job interview’

I used to find it really scary to go to a job interview. Especially when it was mostly about part-time jobs, because I didn't have much experience with these kinds of things and always thought I wasn't well prepared enough. Strangely enough, those job interviews were much more intense than the conversations I had for a ‘more serious’ job. When I was interviewed for a position as a salesperson in a store with sports clothing and equipment, I had to explain where I saw myself in five years. Well, definitely not in this store. But I couldn't say that. The motivation that you want to work here for the money and because the hours fit best is unfortunately not really appreciated. Why can't we just be honest?
Or at least ask good questions that really help you find out if people are suitable for the position or that help you get to know someone. I believe more people agree with this, because in response to the Reddit question ‘What job interview question do you think is pointless?’ there was a massive response. With a lot of recognizable answers, of which I have listed the funniest for you.
1. ‘Any question where the most honest answer is ‘money’, but where you have to come up with some bullshit answer to make someone believe that you are really passionate about this nonsensical topic.’
2. ‘What is your biggest weakness?‘ Do they really expect me to tell the truth? As if they would appreciate that I am lazy and stupid.’
Nice example:
‘What’s your biggest weakness?’
‘I am too honest.’
‘I don’t think that’s a weakness.’
‘I don’t give a fuck about what you think.’
3. ‘Which animal best represents you as a person?’
4. ‘What makes you better than all the other candidates for this position?‘ I got that one time. How can I know that, I haven't met them? Stupid question.’
5. ‘Why do you want this job?‘ Money. The answer is always money. Stop with these kinds of questions.’
6. ‘Where do you see yourself in five years?‘ I don't know, I don't even know what I'm doing this coming Friday, let alone where I will be in five years.’
7. ‘So why do you think you are a good fit for this position?‘ No idea, I just spent a week writing this out in detail in the right format for your job posting, only to get this question again during the first interview.’
8. ‘What is your mantra?’
9. ‘You have fifteen minutes to prepare a one-hour presentation on any topic you like. What topic would you choose?‘ My answer: ’A presentation on unnecessary and nonsensical questions during job interviews.‘
