Tempa Talk: Episode 9

First things first: what happened to the icon of Temptation Island on Videoland? Did a child of an editor draw this or something? A Van Gogh in the making? And do those three hearts represent Ivo's dream relationship? Anyway, I'm fine with it all, but it's quite dangerous: while the kids are looking for innocent shows suitable for them, they suddenly end up in a real-life soap full of concepts, polygamy, open relationships, and IVO. Traumatizing. Parents: beware.

1. Yes, even during this episode we're going to go wild with the drinking game again. Take a shot when someone says ‘concept’, ‘open relationship’, or when René says what we all think. Cheers.

2. Nice that Ivo has realized that he expresses all his thoughts on Temptation Island and it's great that he wants to do that in real life too. But meine gute, don't call me.

3. ‘I didn't lie, I just kept it quiet.’ This is one of the few times I sit speechless in front of the TV. And Iris is laughing, but we all know: she believes a hundred percent what she says.

4. The soundtrack this season is so intense. They're seriously playing ‘a dream is a wish your heart makes’, which comes from Cinderella. It's 2022 and we're listening to Disney songs while watching Temptation Island. What's going on here?

5. Cleo: ‘I just can't accept this, I just can't tolerate it.’
Me: ‘...What happened here again? Antonio literally only sang Dutch hits, right?’

6. It almost seems like Cleo read the handbook ‘Heartbreak for Beginners’ before her departure to Temptation and is now reading it out loud. ‘It's terrible. I've been crying all day. I hardly eat anything all day.’

7. Ivoooo. Shut. Your. MOUTH. ‘Oh, my girlfriend doesn't like it when I talk about open relationships and how she feels about it.’
Also Ivo: *talks about nothing else and also exposes the past of the respective girlfriend*

8. René is all of the Netherlands now. We just don't have the strength for it anymore.

9. Guys, are you still with us? Ivo, Kaj, even Annebel took the word in her mouth: concepts all over the place. Shoooots.

10. OMG. Footage. For Maris. And yes: Ivo starts talking about ‘concepts’. My breakfast is coming back up.

11. Are they seriously suggesting to start an open relationship? With three of them? On TV? With Monica as a witness?

12. I myself am really a novice when it comes to the concept (yes, I'm taking the shot for this) ‘open relationship’, but if you have a relationship with three people, then you just have a polygamous relationship, right? An open relationship is that you can look outside and that's okay? In other words, that's not what's happening here at all?

13. If I were Maris, I would really say ‘ABC I'm done and you figure it out’. Why does Esmé want a relationship with a woman she doesn't know at all? I think Ivo just wants to feel like a big boss with two sister wives by his side and I don't wish him that at all.

14. This photoshoot of Antonio really gives me the ‘on vacation in Turkey with my sweetheart’ vibes. It really suits him perfectly.

15. Iris doesn't quite manage to do it for me this episode. First justifying lying under the guise of ‘it's keeping quiet’ and then standing up for Ivo? Too bad, too bad.

16. Naaah, sly, sadistic creators. That photo of an event that really lasted a millisecond just pops up on Ivo's screen. They are really all in that one of those two has to cheat.

17. Ivo: ‘I actually know for sure that she just doesn't like him.’ Is he the only one who sees something different than a photo of two people giving each other a kiss? Yes? Okay.

18. To say something positive about Ivo: it remains just crazy statements and he doesn't cross the line with Esmé. Okay, they are very crazy statements, but still.

19. From open relationship concepts to marriage proposals: this season of Tempa has really everything. But, can we please experience that marriage proposal?

20. Also new this season? All separate images that absolutely can't wait. Those, especially with the men, need to be shown exactly when the first drinks are in, but the atmosphere hasn't really kicked off yet.

21. Because now we know: Antonio is going to mess up next week. Oh, we saw that coming. But MARIS: you need to step up. The whole country is rooting for you.
