The week of Lil

lilian's outing

Where I kick off the weekend with cocktails, burrata, haute friture, and truffle pizzetta at Ruby Rose in Utrecht, I ended it with poffertjes in my hair #momlife. The weekend flew by like every weekend at rapid pace, but Monday heading to the office is far from boring in our case. I’ll take you along (if it seems fun to you, of course, it does to me!) in my week, where I’ll show you the slightly less glamorous side of my styling profession, the purchase of our new house, and my latest designer find from the sale. Let’s go.

Monday is editorial day, which for team Amayzine means catching up, stealing bags, and actually working too. Because yes: it has become somewhat of a tradition that May and I steal each other’s bags to try them on and also take a mirror selfie with them. And just to be clear: if you ask me, this beauty of a Hermès is definitely one for the ‘later when I grow up’ wishlist. So beautiful.

Once home, it finally arrives (those three working days of delivery time felt like three months, I was so excited): my MyTheresa package containing the perfect pair of ‘Neryse’ sandals from Isabel Marant. They fit perfectly and look even better. Gotta love the designer sale so much. Because just to clarify: because I bought it on sale, I actually made money, right?

Tuesday is my work-from-home day, which this week was mainly focused on styling. I create outfits, set up my tripod, and edit to put together new what to wear videos for you. And anyone who thought it’s all about glamour is mistaken; just check out the chaos below. Do you see me going with a stroller filled with packages that need to be returned after filming? Exactly: very glamorous.

On Wednesday, I dive into Instagram in the morning. Because for those who might not know yet: I’m also the one behind all the Amayzine Instagram posts. I make a plan, look for images that I hope will inspire you, and search for fun news to share with you this way. In the afternoon, I finally get myself to sort out all of Enzo’s too-small clothes, of which I immediately photograph the prettiest items and post on Vinted. Tip: if you don’t wear it? Sell it. Vinted is really a great place to do this. And, buying is also super good there. Check out these cutest (and sold out everywhere) Air Jordans 1 that I bought for Enzo. PS: Do pay attention not to buy fakes, because unfortunately, those are still being offered for sale on the internet.

And there it was on Thursday: our official approval for the mortgage of our new house. We decide to celebrate it with a visit to the construction site and Studio VOI in Amsterdam, who are designing a part of our house and the kitchen from A to Z in an incredibly cool way. Is it already 2024? Because no joke: our new house will only be delivered then.

And then it’s already Friday. With zero chance of rain in the coming days, tropical temperatures, and a full dose of sun, there’s nothing else on the agenda than the beach of Scheveningen (tip: Barbarossa, super fun for young and old).

By the way, this no longer means reading, tanning, and sipping an iced coffee in a horizontal position, no, it mainly means running after an endlessly energetic toddler and that same coffee leaking all over me. By the way, it sounds a lot less attractive than it is, because don’t get me wrong: I’m enjoying it! And I hope you are too. Have a great weekend everyone and see you next week with May.
