TikTok goes wild over this contour hack

TikTok is no longer just the platform where teenagers dance to the latest hits. It is a treasure trove of all kinds of life hacks: from recipes (think: fetapasta), tech tips, cleaning tricks to brand new inventions in the beauty world. A new product on the market? TikTok can literally make or break it, and once you go viral, it's a global success and sold out everywhere. From frozen beauty blenders to socks in your hair; you can’t think of anything too crazy. Is it worth the hype or a waste of your money? Today: contouring your cheeks with one dot.

Contouring is actually quite complicated because: where do you start? Which color is suitable to create that shadow? What do you actually want to contour and thus make slimmer? My nose is quite narrow, so if I start working with shadows there, it doesn’t look any prettier. My cheeks, on the other hand, could use some contouring from time to time, but wow, what a hassle. Megan Lavallie posted a TikTok video that has been viewed about 7.5 million times, where you can see her contour trick. What does it involve? You place just one dot with the Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand, right in the middle of your cheek. If you could poke through your skin, it would hit your teeth, and that’s where you place the dot. You blend that dot by gently and locally dabbing with a brush, and you’re done, according to Megan. Not everyone was satisfied with this contour tip, as some said it just didn’t work for them. But hey, it’s such a small effort that we can at least give it a try. Ideal if this works, because then I’ve been placing unnecessary dots everywhere all this time, and the endless blending would have been unnecessary.
