The trailer for the first Dutch Christmas film is out

Clear out your house a bit; a Christmas tree needs to fit in. Let Mariah Carey know she can dust herself off, because it's almost time again. In fact, we can already embarrassingly start singing along to All I Want For Christmas Is You, because the trailer for the first (Dutch) Christmas movie has been launched and I think that's a great starting shot. I declare the Christmas season OPEN.

This Dutch Christmas movie is called Hotel Sinestra and stars Elise Schaap in the lead role. I think everyone gets excited about that right away, because is there anyone who doesn't like her? I don't think so. Her co-star is Jeroen Spitzenberger, whom I find just as likable. So far, so good.

Hotel Sinestra is a real family movie — normally not really my thing, but at Christmas I like to make an exception for that. A group of kids experiences what it's like when there are no adults around during their Christmas vacation. We follow eleven-year-old Ava, who is completely fed up with her parents while staying at the Swiss Hotel Sinestra. She wishes they would disappear and voilà: the next day her wish comes true.

That sounds like something I would have been incredibly happy about at eleven: a whole hotel full of peers just for yourself. One big party. But then the power goes out and you really need an adult to fix this. The solution: find the parents to save Christmas. Aaahh.

Check out the trailer below and mark December 14 in your calendar, because that's when Hotel Sinestra will be in theaters.
