People who have 3758 messages open, what's up with you?

With some things, I just can't wrap my head around it. Now, I generally don't feel very sensitive to stress, but I really make sure there is no reason for it. And that's why I always try to adhere to the concept of a tidy environment = a tidy mind, and you won't quickly find me with a mailbox full of unread messages. But that's beside the point. What I really can't understand is that people who live their lives calmly have hundreds of unread messages on WhatsApp. Therefore, my question to you is: what is up, people? What kind of sorcery is this? How come you haven't completely lost it out of pure panic and stress yet?

Yesterday, I was confronted with such a person again: they sent a screenshot in the group chat of a conversation. I wouldn't know what kind of conversation it was, what it was about, and why it was important; I only saw the number ’77’ in the top left corner. Seventy-seven. Unopened. Messages. Meine gute, it's not even my phone and I was almost having a panic attack from it. In this specific case, this person is also incredibly bad at replying, but now I understand that. I was probably hanging somewhere at the bottom with my unopened message from two weeks ago.

So my question to you dear but especially crazy and I assume completely stressed people with tons of unopened messages on the app: how do you maintain a social life? Are people happy with you? Are you happy with yourselves? Personally, I find it really quite rude when people just don't open your message. Of course, the lack of a response is quite annoying, but it also generally has something really mean about it. As if I'm not worth the effort to be opened. Or am I really putting too much value on this and should I actually just learn from you to be a bit more relaxed? Teach me, masters.
