Hilarious: woman of 101 says tequila is her secret

Years ago, to be precise after a vacation in Lloret where I can hardly remember anything, I swore to never drink it again. And no matter how bad I am at keeping such promises, it has been sixteen years now (wow, now I feel old) and I still haven't taken a drop of it. Yes, I'm talking about tequila. I truly don't understand how people can drink this for pleasure. How can you down this with a poker face?
Well, maybe I should just give in if I want to reach 100, because Mary Flip (definitely a cool name) recently turned 101 and she swears by it. The secret to a long life: tequila. She was born in Arizona but moved to Mexico at eighteen, where she came into contact with her two great loves: her future husband and tequila.
She celebrated her 101st birthday not only with tequila but also with her favorite beer: Guinness. I really can't drink that either, but it's clear to me that Mary Flip is a true diehard drinker. You probably won't make her happy with a super sweet cocktail. No, for her only the real deal.
By the way, such a crazy piece of advice isn't that unusual: the oldest woman in the world, Lucile Randon, blew out 118 (!) candles this April and she was asked the same question. What was her secret to a long life? ‘A glass of wine a day, keeps the doctor away,’ she replied. And she has been consistently drinking that little glass of wine at breakfast for years. Two heroes, these women.
