At the last minute: the coolest wine shop of 2023 online

I think almost everyone is now familiar with The FOMO Show, The Dean, and the podcast The Stijn, Tobi, and Jeppe Show. Made by friends behind and in front of the camera, who were first seen as a quartet in Streetlab. I actually found that quite amusing back then; I watched it on rough days with a lot of vicarious discomfort. Exactly what I love.

But then there was The FOMO Show with Daan Boom and Jasper Demollin (whom we already knew) with their new sidekick, their friend Tobias Camman. I think over the years he has been dubbed a spirit animal by many viewers, because he often says what we as viewers think. And honestly: a bit of complaining is the best thing there is, right? Especially when you're sent to a fantasy festival with your friends, or a German Christmas market, or a cycling holiday. What would you do if you had to go there, out of your comfort zone with medium enthusiasm?

If your answer was that you would then reach for a drink, then we are not only on the same page, but you might even find Tobias more enjoyable. Because yes, he also enjoys a drink (or thirty) here and there and has turned his hobby into a serious side project: his online wine shop. Chatobi, which he started together with two wine connoisseurs. Can we take a moment to appreciate the name? Love it.

Tobias not only drinks a lot, he also knows a lot about it — and that passion is clearly reflected on the website. For every wine, there is an extensive description (but not as stuffy as is often the case with many wine shops) of what kind of wine it is, what it pairs well with, and for what occasion. Also very nice: there is something for every price range.

They have a very reasonably priced Barolo for €48.50 — my favorite, and those are often a lot more expensive, but also a Spätburgunder for €15.95. And what is a wine shop without house wine? Exactly, then you have no reason to exist. The Chardonnay from Chatobi (named Chatobi including its own label) is really more than decent for €10.95. And yes: of course there are also (rosé) bubbles available in the webshop.
