Why Beyoncé is a living legend

Last night I got to go to the Johan Cruijff ArenA for Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour. The Queen, who can rightfully be called the best performer of all time in every respect, came with a show that surpassed everything. A show that cannot be explained in words. What energy. She delivered an overwhelming tribute to freedom, diversity, and the black queer community. From the very first moment, she took you on a rollercoaster of music, vogue dance acts, and a creation of visuals that are far ahead of their time. Combined with her flowing locks created by a blower that was continuously aimed at her (which, by the way, has characterized Bey since her Destiny’s Child days), I was literally (well, not really literally, I wish it were so) hanging on her lips for these resounding reasons:

1. First of all: is there anything Bey can't do? She sings and dances like no one else can.

2. The show was a grand spectacle, one that I have never seen before. Fireworks, glitter, a lit horse, robots, and a large tank; it was endless.

3.  The two French dancers, Larry and Laurent Bourgeois (a twin duo), with whom she has been working for over ten years, were an absolute treat.

4. I was lucky that Blue Ivy danced along on Sunday to the song Power. Just for you: Blue Ivy is 11 years old.

5. Last Saturday, Beyoncé wore a dress by our own Dutch designer Iris van Herpen.

6. Bey's outfits from Sunday were exclusively made by black designers, she writes on her Instagram. This in honor of Juneteenth, an American holiday that celebrates the liberation from slavery every year on June 19.
