Dating Disasters: ‘This was the worst kiss I had ever had’

In Dating Disasters, anonymous readers recount their most embarrassing, toe-curling and dramatic dates. This week: the rookie.
Very experienced I was not yet at the time of my disaster date. I was about 16 years old and just fresh out of my first courtship. At that age, we didn't even have real dates, but just met on benches in the park. So did Mark, a friend of a friend I met in a playground in our village. We wanted to meet up, but definitely not at home and there was quite little else to do.
So we plunged onto one of the benches and chatted. At least, I chatted, he mostly looked shyly into the distance. Strange to me, after all, he was already about 19 years old. After a while it was time to go, and even though I found our conversation a bit boring, I decided to kiss him anyway. I felt that I had far too little experience (I should have known that I would have more than enough time for that) and thought this was a great opportunity to gain that experience.
He clearly thought otherwise, as he just stood nervously chuckling. Still, he slowly bent towards me, but halfway through that movement he abruptly stopped and heaved a deep sigh. Confused, I looked at him and, fearing I had bad breath or something else embarrassing, asked what was wrong. He did not understand what I meant and moved awkwardly in my direction again. Not long after, he gave me the worst, wettest and hardest kiss of my life, then pulled himself back shakily.
‘I didn't know kissing could be so intense,’ he whispered almost unintelligibly. What a turn-off. At the time, I didn't understand what he was talking about, until he admitted that this had been his first kiss ever. That explained everything. Call me a bitch, but I found it so unattractive that he was so inexperienced (read: even less experienced than me). And that he had labelled the worst kiss ever as intense I found completely ridiculous. Intense bad, yes. With an excuse, I dropped out and I skilfully ignored him on MSN from then on (I am aware that this gives away my age tremendously). I actually have no idea how he's doing now, but I still think back to it occasionally with a chuckle and hope he got to experience a whole lot more first kisses.
