Everyone says the same about the new Barbie movie

Just one more week to wait and then we can finally see it: the Barbie movie. For me at least, this is the movie I've been looking forward to all year, because I think it has turned out to be so much fun. How could it be anything else, with Greta Gerwig as director and Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the lead roles? It can only go well. But what I didn't expect is that after the premiere in Los Angeles this week, viewers mostly agree on one thing.

And that is that Ryan Gosling as Ken steals the show; many viewers say he is by far the best part of the entire film. One person writes on Twitter: ‘I was at the premiere of Barbie in LA and I haven't had such a serotonin boost in a long time. […] Margot Robbie is enchanting, but Ryan Gosling steals the show.’

And this Twitter user is far from the only one, as someone named Jamie writes: ‘Give Ryan Gosling an Oscar nomination for this, and I mean it!’ And another writes: ‘Barbie is Ryan Gosling's best role so far. […] The Oscar buzz is very real here, and if that happens, it would be one of the most fun and inspiring nominations ever.’

One more then, which made me even more excited to see this film: ‘A pitch-perfect script supported by great performances — especially from Ryan Gosling — ensures that a film that could have been a simple comedy becomes a sharp commentary on our society.’ I've read multiple times that the Barbie movie has much more depth than you would initially think, I'm so curious how they approached that.

Just one more week to wait and then we can also see Ryan Gosling shine on the big screen. Although I refuse to believe that he is overshadowed by Margot Robbie; she is truly made for this role. And he... Well, he is just Ken. No okay, of course, no one believes that.
