OMG: this pizzeria is a floating paradise in the ocean

Yesssss please, I have to go here. This is going to be my new mission and since today it has entered my top 3 bucket list items. That’s because I love pizza, but also because this just looks insane. I’m talking about Cloud 9 (appropriate name), a floating pizzeria — and no, that’s not a gimmick but a place where you can genuinely eat good pizzas that are made in a wood-fired oven. Alexa, play ‘Heaven is a Place on Earth’, because I can’t imagine a more fitting song for this place.

I hear you thinking: this can’t be true, there must be something wrong with this. And there is. At least for us: Cloud 9 is located near Fiji and if you dig a hole straight down into the earth, you might get a little close… Or you book three flights totaling almost 40 hours, then you’ll get there too and that’s the fastest way to get there from the Netherlands. But hey, then you’ve arrived in paradise.

Cloud 9 is actually floating in the Roro Reef, near Malolo Island, which is part of the Mamanuca Islands. I had never heard of that until today, but I think once I arrive, I’ll never want to go back; this looks bizarrely paradise-like.

You are taken to Cloud 9 by boat and once you arrive, the party can begin. Literally, because this pizzeria is known for going all out every day with cocktails, music, and of course pizzas. There are also four turtles living around the boat and you can say hello to them while snorkeling. Yep, you want this. Let’s start saving…
