You can now buy fresh churros at Lidl

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: you can now buy fresh churros at Lidl.
It’s Spanish and Portuguese specialties weeks again at Lidl and do you know what they have in the assortment now? Fresh crispy and golden brown churros with sugar to dip at home in hot chocolate. YUM!
Churros are sometimes called Spanish donuts, but did you know that churros are not actually Spanish at all? They are originally Chinese; the Chinese breakfast dish youtiao is the predecessor of churros. They ended up in Spain via Portugal and then the path to the fresh department of Lidl is suddenly very short.
Dip them in some hot chocolate (or even better: in thick chocolate sauce), close your eyes, put on some Spanish music and just forget for a moment that you are sitting here in the terrible weather and not on a beach somewhere on the Spanish coast.
How much do the churros cost at Lidl?
For three pieces you pay just under a euro. Well, actually yes, because they cost 0.99 cents. In Spain, they still use euro cents and so the circle is complete again. Freshly baked, churros are the tastiest, but do you want to keep the churros because you have stocked up extra? Then keep them for two days in an airtight container.
