Table of Ocho by Bacardi

If there is anything positive that has come out of corona, it is that I have started doing a lot more home drinks and dinners — and I have also started to enjoy it much more. For example, I celebrated Christmas Eve with four friends at my place (normally we would go out to eat) and I made it an Asian evening. Complete with chopsticks (with cats on them, of course), dim sum, edamame, a lot of other food, and all kinds of decorations from the store. I really enjoyed doing that.

And the anticipation is also fun; doing the shopping and getting a bit of inspiration for decorations and how you want to set the table. I ended up on the site of Table of Ocho, an initiative by Bacardi in collaboration with chef London Loy. Now I don't think so highly of myself that I believe I can cook just as well — but in terms of inspiration, this is really nice. Besides setting the table, I always find plating the dishes a true art.

And this inspiration session reminded me of one very important detail that I had missed: I hadn't stocked up on cocktails yet. That would have been disastrous. So if you're looking for inspiration, or like me, almost a sort of checklist that your dinner party should meet; check out the here.
