Yes, Amsterdam has gained a new hotspot. Vegans can click away because unfortunately, this will not become your new favorite place, but if you, like me, have a weakness for really well-fried chicken... Then you want to go here this week.

Maybe you already know the name: Ladybird Fried Chicken. For a year they had a pop-up restaurant, but now they are open at their new permanent location at Sarphatipark (where Boca’s used to be). And the name says it all but indeed: you come here for the fried chicken. In all shapes and sizes.

From chicken wings to a burger
You can even order your chicken with caviar here. I'll pass on that for now, but I seriously want to go here as soon as possible. This is something we really miss in the Netherlands and I see everywhere on the internet in the United States (on TikTok, for example). What is that? The best sauces for the wings. Wáárom can I get nowhere blue cheese with my portion of chicken wings? Or the hot honey, Buffalo or lemon pepper, which according to all those TikTokers must be really heavenly?

They are all on the menu here, and that is extremely good news. It will not surprise you that one of the two gentlemen behind Lady Bird Fried Chicken comes from New York. Well, cliché but true: in fried snacks (and what goes with it) the Americans are really better.

If you are not so wild about chicken wings, they also have the Ladybird Burger (on a brioche bun), and if you don't like to gnaw: they also have tenders. I actually hoped they would deliver at home too, because then I would have seriously ordered it right now. But unfortunately. This weekend I will make my move here.
