Japan is suffering from sushi terrorism

sushi restaurant terrorism

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: Japan is experiencing a real wave of sushi terrorism.

Playing with food is not allowed, we all learned that when we were younger, right? Well, apparently not in Japan, where sushi restaurants are suffering from real terrorists. This hype is going viral on social media and restaurant owners are absolutely not happy about it.

It is really very disgusting: videos of teenagers licking soy sauce bottles and then putting them back on the conveyor belt. This kind of sushi spots are very popular in Japan; where you take your own piece from a running conveyor belt and pay for everything afterwards.

All of Japan is now affected by it
That video of that disgusting person licking the soy sauce bottle went completely viral, marking the start of this sushi terrorism and has led to many copycats across the country. Sad, very gross, and especially unfortunate for the restaurant owners; by now they are noticing that their revenue has plummeted.

This is because people no longer dare to eat at these kinds of restaurants, afraid of this kind of terrorism and afraid of poor hygiene. Understandable, but very sad. New rules have now been implemented at the sushi place where all this started, called Gifu. They are now required to pick up chopsticks and other extras (like soy sauce) at a central point and disinfectant is available everywhere.

Other chains that are suffering a lot from this terrorism, Hama-sushi and Kura Sushi, are also working on introducing new rules and are considering legal action.
