Microclubbing is the new nightlife hype and this is why you want to be a part of it

I don't know about you, but this almost-thirty-year-old is giving in to the temptations of her couch, her electric blanket (crazy thing), and a good movie on Friday nights a bit too often these days. And while that trio is of course hard to resist after a week of hard work, I've been increasingly looking back with nostalgia at the 25-year-old ball of energy who wouldn't let a little fatigue get her down. No way, she would effortlessly hit the dance floor of her favorite pub every Friday night at exactly 00:30 and only head home once the first birds started chirping. Now, I still have little desire for that, especially in the cold winter months, but I do feel like partially immersing myself in the party scene again. So I started looking and I found the solution for all part-time extroverts like myself. I present to you: microclubbing.

Microclubbing is a form of partying that even the most tired partygoer can handle. The idea is that the partying starts early, around eight o'clock, so you can comfortably crawl back under your electric blanket by half past twelve. Sounds lovely, right?

Now I hear you thinking: nice, but no club opens its doors this early. That's true, but organizations like The Microclub are already organizing parties at this early hour in various cities, and locations across the country seem to be catching on to this trend by occasionally hosting a ‘microclub’ night.

Personally, I don't know if this concept would be for me. My destructive ‘I'm here now anyway’ mentality would happily roll towards the city after midnight, only to walk home again just as the sun is rising (I don't want this, but history shows that this outcome is inevitable). So that's an extra four hours of partying added to my schedule. That can't be the intention, but if you make sure to expertly ignore that little voice after microclubbing, you'll be back in bed around midnight and still have something left for the rest of your weekend. Ideal!
