Is a spike mat the miracle cure for stress and sleep problems?

As a chronic insomniac, I am extremely fascinated by this. I have always been a bad sleeper and I have tried everything: a waterbed, yoga nidra, no coffee, no alcohol... The only thing that has worked so far are sleeping pills, but you don't want to use those for too long or too much. Very annoying and literally exhausting, because lack of sleep also makes me very stressed. A case of vicious circle. I grab every aid with both hands. Although: I might skip this one...

According to experts, the spike mat is making a comeback. Yes, you read that right: Spike. Mat. Apparently, this would be the miracle cure for all your physical issues. In East Asia, they have been using this for centuries because of acupressure. That may be true, but comfortable is another story.

Still, there are several benefits to a spike mat, of which the points below are the four most important.

1. Less stress
The acupressure points of a spike bed stimulate the muscles in certain areas. You would think it absolutely doesn't feel good, but this can lead to an intensely relaxing feeling.

2. Pain relief
Honestly, I can't imagine this, but this would really be the remedy for back, neck, and headaches. Maybe worth a try...

3. Better sleep
This intrigues me immensely: how can this improve your sleep?! But apparently, sleeping on a spike mat not only allows you to sleep deeper but also more relaxed.

4. Also good for your mind
You would gain more energy from it and it is good for your immune system and mental well-being. Well, bring it on with that spike bed.
