Netflix Tip of the Day: Love is in the Air

Is someone looking for a new bad romcom? Well, I have one for you. Love is in the Air is on Netflix and it’s everything you want and nothing more. This is a romcom as we know it: predictable, not necessarily funny, very attractive people who act mediocre and mindless entertainment for an hour and a half. As I said: everything you want and nothing more or less. Although this film does earn a little extra point because the lead role is played by Delta Goodrem, who can also sing a nice note. Lost Without You and Born To Try remain delightful songs to shamelessly belt out.

Delta Goodrem can also act, and in Love is in the Air she plays the pilot Dana, who will do everything to save her family business from collapse. William (Joshua Sasse) actually wants that business to fail, and you guessed it: the two really like each other and that is of course quite awkward.

By the way, if you think: hey, that title sounds familiar: it can. There are at least two other movies and a TV series with the same title. HAHA. That says enough about the originality of this film, but to be fair: it does watch really nicely, and the fact that the whole film takes place in a tropical paradise doesn’t make it very unpleasant to watch.

The whole film was actually shot in Whitsundays, which is located in Queensland, Australia. Pearl-white beaches, azure blue sea… It’s a great business card for Australia. And for us, it’s another great hour and a half of entertainment where we don’t have to think: delightful.
