This is what you want: a sushi cake

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: this is what you want: a sushi cake.
If you're not really a sweet tooth but have a festive occasion coming up: this is what you want to make. For example, if it's your birthday but a red velvet cake isn't really your thing, then I think you'll make yourself (and your guests) extremely happy with this. A sushi cake: sounds pretty cool, right?!
I found this recipe on SterkInDeKeuken, looks very delicious and judging by the recipe, even I can make it — so you don't have to be a chef to make this sushi cake.
IN 7 STEPS YOU MAKE THIS SUSHI CAKE
Well, seven... I'm doing it in a bit less, because I'm making it extra easy for myself and just using ready-made sriracha mayonnaise. But if you want to make it completely from scratch , then follow these seven steps.
Step 1
Make sriracha mayonnaise by mixing the sriracha sauce and mayonnaise together and then place it in the refrigerator.
Step 2
Cook the sushi rice as stated on the package, and then let it cool down. Then heat the rice vinegar, and dissolve the sugar and kitchen salt in it — after that, add the rice to it and mix everything well. Finally, add the sesame seeds and mix until all the sesame seeds are well distributed.
Step 3
Remove the bones from the salmon by pulling it apart. Then mix the shredded salmon with the sriracha mayonnaise, pepper, and salt.
Step 4
Place baking paper at the bottom and against the sides of the springform pan. Cover the bottom with 1/3 of the sushi rice, and press it down well. Then cover the rice with half of the salmon. On top of that goes one layer of cucumber slices. You then repeat these steps once more, with the last part of rice on top.
Step 5
Remove the pit from the avocado by cutting it in half, and also remove the skin. Then slice the avocado into the thinnest possible slices, but don't separate them yet. You only do this at the end, when you have sliced all the pieces. By gently pushing them apart (but not pulling them away from each other) and then rolling them up, you get the nice shape. Drizzle some lemon juice on it so the avocado doesn't discolor. Place this shape on the cake with some pepper on top.
Step 6
Finish the cake with dollops of sriracha mayonnaise, crushed wasabi nuts, and rings of spring onion.
Step 7
Serve the sushi cake with soy sauce and possibly with wasabi.
