The restaurants in Paris that you want to visit in 2023

Paris, the city of love? Not at all, the city of food and drink, if you ask me. Although I always find it difficult to know which of the restaurants I really shouldn't miss in such a large city as Paris; the options are truly endless. Sound familiar? That's why I've listed the ten best ones at the moment for you, so you know which restaurants in Paris you really want to visit this year. On y va!
Popular hotspot (definitely make a reservation) with small Middle Eastern dishes to share. Be sure to order one of the cocktails, as they are really worth it. It's not a large place, but the tables are not too close together, which is very pleasant. It gets going late (a late reservation is actually cozier) and the hummus, beef köfte, and crème brûlée are must-tries.
24 Rue Victor Massé
2. Early June
A wine bar where you can also order some snacks. Ideal for a light dinner (or a liquid dinner...) and it can be very spontaneous: you can only reserve from four people. The chance is quite high that you might have to wait, as it is a popular spot. You can understand why once you're seated: it's so nice to be here.
19 Rue Jean Poulmarch
Open for both lunch and dinner, where they have the same menu for both shifts. It's so cozy here, almost old-fashioned, which is a really nice change from all the trendy hotspots you also find in Paris. The staff always has great suggestions, is super friendly, and the prices are very reasonable — all good reasons why this spot has been a staple for years.
9 Rue de Béarn
Such a special place, where you won't find many like it: they have only 25 seats and there is no music playing in the background. This bar is located in the Ritz Hotel and serves the very best cocktails. Admittedly, it's not a real restaurant, but it's such a good tip that I had to include it on the list.
38 Rue Cambon
A truly classic French bistro where the menu is still on a chalkboard, where they have different dishes of the day and (not unimportantly) a very extensive wine list. One advantage is that you can reserve here, which you should do well in advance if you want to secure a spot.
45 Rue Saint-Georges
6. Chez Janou
A real French bistro in the Le Marais district where you can easily spend an entire evening. They are known for their chocolate mousse, and I can't quite describe how divine it is; you really have to experience it. So definitely save some room. Another tip: let the staff advise you on the wine, as they know a lot about it.
2 Rue Roger Verlomme
7. Pink Mamma
Had enough of all the French food? Then head to Pink Mamma, where you really feel a bit like you're in Italy. Despite the fact that it's a large place (four floors), it's still handy to make a reservation. If not, try anyway: they always keep some tables free for walk-ins. You want to go here for the pizza, the pasta, the burrata, and the amazing atmosphere.
20bis Rue de Douai
8. Astair
Here you are good for an evening of extensive dining, whether it's lunch or dinner. The prices are very reasonable and the dishes are classic French. Be sure to try the artichoke and rillette to share as a starter: so delicious. If you're going for lunch, they have the option to take a three-course menu for €28. Really a good deal, especially if you order one of the delicious wines with it.
19 Pass. des Panoramas
A few doors down from Django Pigalle, you will find this hotspot. Here too, they have delicious cocktails and dishes to share, but while Django Pigalle is mainly Middle Eastern oriented, you will find various pastas on the menu here, or a grilled trout or pigeon. As the name suggests: you will mainly find French influences on the menu and wine list here.
29 Rue Victor Massé
10. Mumi
Last but certainly not least: Mumi. The name of this place is inspired by the Museum Mile in New York, but the menu is inspired by places from all over the world. The result: a fine dining menu, where you can choose between three or four courses during lunch and five courses for dinner. If you go here, definitely take the wine pairing, as it is truly worth tasting.
14 Rue Sauval
