Last weekend, I went to my favorite city Valencia for the fourth time in two years, but I was certainly not the only lady with this idea. The number of women I encountered there is enormous. Women in three-quarter pants with sandals on a bike and types like me who spend three days baking on the beach. All with different interests (because Valencia has something for everyone) but with a great common agreement; calories do not exist for a very short time on vacation. So, here are the best restaurants where you want to eat when you are in Valencia.

Breakfast: La Rollerie
It's almost a shame to have breakfast at your hotel for a fortune. You can eat much better at a local Spanish place for that money. By now, I have visited quite a few restaurants for breakfast, but La Rollerie remains my number one. The ‘pan con tomate’ is really the best here and it's just one minute away from the main shopping street. Ideal, if you ask me.

Lunch: Portolito
Let me state upfront that I find it quite silly to keep going to the same restaurants, but this eatery is the exception to the rule for me. It is right on the boulevard and strangely enough, it's not very touristy. At least, when I went there to eat, it was full of Spaniards and that is already a plus for me. Then you really know it's good. And yes, I can confirm this. The tapas, the paella, the sangria; it's delicious.

Dinner: San Tommaso
After a few days in Valencia, you can no longer see those pans of paella, so for a change, a good Italian is also nice. And I found one: San Tommaso. It's always busy here, so try to make a reservation, it's definitely worth it. Both outside and inside it's atmospheric, there is always music present and let's be honest: Italian food is always good, surprisingly enough also in Spain. Although you might go there just for the waiters, because they are not bad, I can tell you.
