See: trailer of the new Exorcist movie

The Exorcist

It might just be the horror movie of horror movies: The Exorcist from 1973. This film has turned 50 years old this year, but it remains a delightful film, if you ask me. And even though I've seen it a million times, I still get scared every time Regan crawls down the stairs possessed in a bridge. What a delightful film.

I found the sequels to be a lot less successful. Part 2 (The Heretic) absolutely did not have the same feeling and tension as part 1, and part 3 didn't even have Linda Blair as Regan and was possibly even worse. But now, fifty years after the first film, we are getting a new installment in The Exorcist series and the trailer for it has just been released.

This time there is not one girl, but there are two girls possessed: the teenagers Angela and Katherine. The two friendly girls go missing for three days out of nowhere and are (understatement) not exactly the same when they are found.

Fun fact: Ellen Burstyn, who also had a role in the original film, is making a return. Just like the wonderfully recognizable tune from The Exorcist, which still gives chills. Yep, this is going to be a must-see for every horror lover. We just have to wait a little longer: it will only be in theaters in October.
