This food is actually not that bad for the figure

Trigger warning: calories

Now that summer is coming again, this dilemma will be recognizable for many: should we eat delicious food or healthy food? However, not everything that is considered ‘delicious’ has to be automatically unhealthy. So if you no longer want to feel guilty after a drink or a quick bite at the station, this list of surprising low-calorie options is for you.

Disclaimer: the following snacks are still not mega healthy in terms of nutrients, but in terms of calories they are relatively low.

1. Mars ice cream
We all know that most ice creams are generally not that bad: a water ice, for example, contains around 60 calories. A Mars ice cream, on the other hand, does feel a bit like a calorie bomb. I think this is because a normal Mars bar already contains 229 calories, but guess what? The ice cream variant is much better with only 131 calories. I know what I'm going to throw in my basket first next time.

2. Chicken nuggets
When you go through the McDrive, you already think in advance that it's going to be a big cheat meal that you better skip. However, this doesn't always have to be the case, because a serving of six chicken nuggets contains about 265 calories. Compared to a Big Mac, which contains double the amount of calories, that's really not bad at all. Maybe it's time for me to replace that Big Mac (which still gives me a stomach ache a whole day later) with some chicken nuggets.

3. Champagne
If you want to watch your figure a bit, alcohol is definitely not your best friend. But completely eliminating alcohol when you enjoy a drink from time to time is not very easy for many. Champagne is actually not a bad alternative, as a glass contains about 90 calories.

4. KitKat
Since I'm just a woman, I couldn't resist adding another piece of chocolate to the list. It turns out that KitKat is not as bad as it seems, with 54 calories per bar. In such a large package, there are four, so that's around 200 calories. When you compare that to a Snickers bar of 240 calories that is gone in three bites, that's definitely a difference.

5. Croquette
Nothing beats a snack from the wall after a night out, and most people are unlikely to get rid of that habit. But if you want to make a somewhat responsible choice, you really don't have to skip that croquette. A croquette contains 190 calories, which I secretly find quite reasonable.
