A ‘Hot Girl Walk’ is the sports trend of this summer and here's how to join in

to catch that bus. Your colleague with size 36 may naturally be much more active without spending hours in the gym.

If there is anyone who is not jumping at the chance to try a new form of activity, it is me. I don't know why, but I just really don't like sports. I remember countless gym classes where I was the only one who couldn't get over that vault (who even comes up with this?), where the teacher did everything to make sure I would at least catch one ball, and where other students let out a deep sigh when I joined their team. Yep, my talents clearly lay elsewhere. So it's perhaps not so strange that I never developed a happy relationship with sports, but I do find it a pity. I was very happy when I found a workout on TikTok that didn't immediately trigger a panicked trauma response: a ‘Hot Girl Walk’.

TikToker Mia Lind is the creator of the ‘Hot Girl Walk’ trend that has completely taken over my algorithm. She was looking, just like me, for a workout that she wouldn't dread, and she found it. But how do you exactly do such a Hot Girl Walk? All you have to do is put on your favorite walking shoes (maybe buy them first, but any excuse to shop is a good one), jump on the treadmill or head outside, put on your favorite playlist (there are even special Hot Girl Walk playlists full of empowering songs), and think about everything you want to achieve while walking about 5 to 6 kilometers. Lind says that during her own walks, she thinks about everything she is grateful for and everything she still wants to manifest in her life.

Such a Hot Girl Walk has countless benefits. First of all, it gets you out of the house, which can really be a challenge for some people. Furthermore, it gives you exercise, which is good for your mental health, and it gives you time to focus on your goals and really get out of that autopilot mode that we all tend to be in for most of the day. This way, a Hot Girl Walk can even become a meditative experience. Besides the fact that this trend is good for your steps, it also improves your mood and gives you a sense of joy and empowerment. Oh yes, and it keeps you fit without needing a vault or ball. Who would have thought?
