We really can't ignore it anymore: winter is coming. Or better said: Christmas is coming. Yesss, I know it's literally just October, but I'm already being bombarded with it. Love Actually is back on Netflix this month, the ginger nuts have long been on the shelves, and I've personally dusted off Mariah Carey on Spotify again. Let those Christmas plans come, I'm totally ready for it.

And Christmas is of course not complete without Christmas markets. Doing some shopping, ordering glühwein, getting some decorations for the tree, wandering around a bit... But where in the Netherlands do you need to be for that this year?

If you want to catch the biggest one, you're in luck in Haarlem. It has about 300 stalls and was also named the ‘best in the Netherlands’ in 2017. Not just quantity, but also quality. If you like action, you might want to skip this one, as there are no activities like rides or an ice rink here. But hey, with 300 stalls, I bet you'll still have a great time.

And the best news: you can already mark it in your calendar. This market can be visited this year on December 8, 9, and 10. So go ahead and plan that day out.
