The most beautiful places in Italy that you don't know yet

To name all the most beautiful places in Italy, one article is not enough, but with this list we will get quite far. Because when it comes to cities, it's a matter of: tastes differ. One person's is Firenze favorite, another's is Rome and then there are so many unjustly undiscovered places. What cannot be disputed is the power of Mother Nature. The most beautiful natural wonders of Italy can be combined with a trip to your favorite city or region.
These natural wonders are the most beautiful places in Italy
Scala dei Turchi
A bright white cliff that stands out surrealistically against the sea on the southern coast of Sicily. Weather and wind have worn away a kind of steps from the limestone rock, which is why it was dubbed the Stair of the Turks. And that Turkish bit? It comes from Saracen pirates who played land grab from what is now Turkey and hid in the coves.

Thermal baths of Tuscany
In Tuscany are bursting with natural pools that are heated by the earth itself. They provide beautiful pictures and are good for well-being. The high sulfur content in the thermal baths may stink, but the present carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide are also good for the respiratory system and skin. Saturnia is the most famous, not too far from Florence you will find Bagni di San Filippo and I can tell you: that's a nice outing from the city. Nose closed and go.

Grotta Azzura
At the Blue Grotto on the coast of Capri, you can only enter through a small entrance at sea. The sun reflects in a hole underwater, causing the water in the cave to turn bright blue. Ed ecco: there you have the name Grotta Azzura and the reason why this is one of the most beautiful places in Italy.

Cascata delle Marmore
A natural wonder that has received a bit of help from man. Because the Velino river was quite fond of high water, the surroundings of Lazio overflowed a bit too often. The river was diverted to the Marmore mountain, where the water could tumble down in peace. It just didn't do that, so some popes intervened to give the waterfall its safe shape that it has now.

Lago di Rèsia
Another collaboration between Mother Nature and man. In South Tyrol, hard flow was once needed and a dam was built. The village of Curon was the victim: its inhabitants had to leave for the upcoming reservoir and only the church tower kept its head above water. Cruel, but it now provides nice pictures and the nomination for one of the most beautiful places in Italy. And a grim Netflix series named after the village.

The legend says that this natural pool in Puglia was the favorite of a wondrously beautiful princess. Poets were then crazy about it and so the swimming cave was renamed ‘Cave of Poetry’. The dive-worthy water is located near Roca Vecchia and Lecce.
