The most beautiful rooftop bars in Europe

Every time I am in a new city, the first thing I always look for is the rooftop bars. There is always something beautiful and special about viewing a city from a great height. And because we just have a new addition in Amsterdam (which is truly amazing), I started looking around the rest of Europe. And voilà: here I have the ultimate list of the most beautiful rooftop bars in Europe for you.

1. Amsterdam: LuminAir
Yes, let's start with that new addition right away. You can find LuminAir next to Amsterdam Central, in the DoubleTree by Hilton. There was already a rooftop bar here, but you won't recognize it anymore: it has had a gigantic makeover and the new name is LuminAir. The view is truly stunning, they also have an outdoor terrace with the same view and the cocktails are to die for. Each one is very special and delicious. Be sure to tell the bartender what you like and let yourself be surprised.

2. Copenhagen: Nimb Roof
I find Copenhagen such a lovely city, but when I was there I could hardly find any really nice rooftops. So you can imagine how incredibly happy I was to find this spot; it's really an all-day spot where you can drink, eat, or swim in the pool during the day and enjoy the most beautiful cocktails in the evening. Note: normally, Nimb Roof is only accessible to members, so check the agenda on the site. In the summer, there are many events that are accessible to everyone.

3. Sardinia: Le Terazze Ritual
This is truly a bizarrely beautiful location; it is located in an old fort in the interior of Sardinia. On top, you will find a cocktail bar including a terrace: it sits on the flat towers of a castle ruin. Really very special. It can get quite warm in Sardinia during the summer, but fortunately, there is also a swimming pool here. And you don't have to leave here for a long time, because there are often parties in the evening. Believe me, this one should be on your bucket list.

4. London: Savage Garden
You can find this rooftop just like the number one on the list in the DoubleTree by Hilton. They are known for their extravagant cocktails and — I am really curious about this — their injectable donuts. In the evening, it gets lively here, so if you prefer a bit of peace, you might want to book the Afternoon Tea, which is also very British.

5. Paris: Le Perchoir Ménilmontant
Here you sometimes feel a bit like you are in Ibiza, because there is a very nice bohemian atmosphere. Very un-French, but still very beautiful and enjoyable. Fun fact: they mainly work with local and seasonal products here. They have their own gin, their own vodka, and their own cognac. At the rooftop bar, they have a snack menu with some bites, but if you want to dine extensively, you need to go one floor down; on the sixth floor, there is a very good restaurant.

6. Ibiza: Nobu Ibiza Bay
Save the best for last… I love Nobu. I first ate there in Dubai and it was amazing in one word. But Nobu Ibiza Bay is (I didn't know it could be) even more fun: this is a five-star hotel that has several restaurants and thus this beautiful rooftop. It is open from Thursday to Sunday, with a different theme every evening. There is often a DJ, but there is also live music and even wellness evenings. So definitely check the agenda to see what is planned for the coming week, but in any case: stop by for a drink. You won't regret it.
