Look no further; this is the tastiest butter

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: Look no further; this is the tastiest butter.
Our Dutch cows are annually responsible for a branch of dairy exports worth billions, and thus certainly not insignificant players. But every now and then, a transfer comes in that we embrace with love.
The Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey have each blessed the world with a breed of cows. These cows produce milk from which butter is made that is so incredibly delicious that you can ignore all other toppings as long as you can get that butter on your bread or toast. And yes, you have to put in a bit of effort and it costs something, but damn it, then you have something.
GUERNSEY BUTTER
Guernsey cows have the wonderful biological property that they do not digest carotene from grass. The butter from those Golden Girls tastes rich, soft, creamy, and so velvety that you might need to adjust your previous ideas about of butter it and start using this butter as a guiding light. It goes for about €7.35 over the counter. There is currently one eco-farm in the Netherlands with a herd of Guernsey cows. Their site also has an interesting story about A2 milk.

JERSEY BUTTER
Let's continue on this butter theme with Jersey cows. Blonde-brown, with those incredibly sweet big eyes – surely only deliciousness can come from that? Indeed, their milk is used to make incredibly good cheese, but the production of this raw milk butter for your bread is currently solely in the hands of Cheese Dairy De Nylander. There are certainly similarities with Guernsey butter: high carotene content, nice high fat content, and plenty of proteins. And… even more exclusive! Only available in the farm shop, for €3.65.

I MUST HAVE THIS!
Yes, we understand that. For Guernsey butter, you can find it in a few more places; there is a website where you can find points of sale for it. For Jersey butter, I would say: find your way to De Nylander in Workum and stock up. You can also store it in the freezer! And let us know via Facebook if and when you discover a new point of sale for this divine spread.
