Viral on TikTok: with this method you could fall asleep in two minutes

So, if this works, I'm really going to cry from happiness. I've been a bad sleeper for years, as long as I can remember. I've tried everything: sleeping pills, putting my phone away, changing sleep rhythms, melatonin, weighted blankets, you name it. So I've tried everything except this, simply because I had never heard of it before. But as if TikTok's algorithm had noticed my dark circles, my entire For You Page is suddenly filled with this sleep hack. You should fall asleep within two minutes with this trick, and that has never happened to me in my 33 years of life, so this piqued my interest.
This sleep method comes from the military and is therefore also called the Military Technique. I must say that I'm a bit skeptical right away, because this technique is said to be mainly used by pilots on deployment so they could sleep well. Now, my ex has been exactly that for years and he was just as bad a sleeper as I am. But okay, let's not be too skeptical, I just have to try this.
The technique goes as follows: when you lie down in bed, you must consciously relax each part of your body. Starting with your head: close your eyes, pay attention to your breathing, try to relax, and then move on to your neck, your chest, your stomach, until you reach your feet. You should imagine that a warm sensation is moving from your head to the body part you are focusing on.
You can also imagine that you are, for example, drifting on a small boat on still water. Every time your thoughts drift to something else, you should think for ten seconds: don't think, don't think, don't think.
If you keep this up for six weeks, you should then sleep like a baby. I'm curious, my six weeks start tonight. I'll keep you updated if it works.
