Tip for today: Virtual Gallery at the Rijksmuseum

Feeling like a cultural and inspiring afternoon today, but don’t feel like going out? I get it, because it’s freezing cold and with a bit of bad luck (which we’ve had the last few weeks) it might also rain. But I have a nice tip for you that you can do completely from home; the twelfth edition of the Cultuurfonds Mode Stipendium from the Dutch Fashion Foundation is this afternoon at the Rijksmuseum, and you can attend it virtually via this link, you just need to register and that’s it.
What to expect? Every year this award is given to one of the best Dutch designers of the moment, and the list of previous winners is quite impressive: Bas Kosters, Jan Taminau, Claes Iversen, and Ilja Vissers have previously taken home this award.
And you can also view works from them, because besides this livestream, there is also a Virtual Gallery to visit, where you can look around as an avatar in this gallery filled with designs from previous winners. So twelve years of designs from amazing designers, and you can enjoy it from your chair, couch, or bed.
The livestream starts at six o'clock (so make sure you’re behind your laptop a bit before that) and lasts about an hour. The winner receives 50,000 euros to help them on their fashion career. So who knows, there’s a good chance that the next Claes Iversen will be announced tomorrow.
