With this walking technique, you train 90 percent of your body

By

Do you remember that pandemic we were in where everyone was walking en masse? Alone, but also together; at a distance of one and a half meters. I honestly get goosebumps when I think back to that. Fortunately, that is all in the past, there is only one thing that remains: everyone is still walking en masse. It makes sense, because it is just very healthy for you and a relaxing workout. I must honestly admit that I no longer manage to walk those 10,000 steps a day, but I do try to do a lot on foot.

But if you really want to get the most out of walking, there is a walking technique that trains 90 percent of your body. So it's really a workout, but you do have to be able to set aside some embarrassment. On the other hand: what does it matter what other people think and that the sport is mainly associated with older people? You end up laughing the hardest, because you become incredibly fit. With Nordic walking.

Yep, that's the way to become the fittest from walking. You need to invest in the poles, but other than that you need nothing — and aside from the fact that you burn calories, it's also good for your overall posture. That would honestly be a reason for me to start this, because sometimes I really feel like I'm walking crooked.

With a session of Nordic walking, you train not only your legs but also your arms and abdominal muscles. Originally, this was a way to practice for cross-country skiing in the summer, but it has now become a sport in its own right. Will this be the new walking trend next summer? I think it would be hilarious if the entire oat milk elite of Amsterdam suddenly starts Nordic walking.
