Ooh la la: win a city trip with Fuze Tea and TripAdvisor

If there is one thing that makes me a happy person, it is a spontaneous city trip. Whether abroad or in my own country, I don't mind. Just give me a king-size bed, room service, and an oversized white bathrobe, and you have me, you know. Lucky me: I recently got to go on a city trip. Not alone, but with Fuze Tea and TripAdvisor for their latest campaign ‘Made of Fusion’. Here, the fusion of travel is central, the merging of feeling, taste, and culture. My destination? Amsterdam. So here it is: a little recap from me to you of my short city trip. Because you can actually win a similar trip win. How nice is that! The action runs until the end of September, so sign up quickly!
Molen van Sloten
First stop: a cultural outing. You would think that in a city like Amsterdam, you would quickly be dropped at the Rijksmuseum, but I was surprised. A visit to the Molen van Sloten was on the agenda. You won't believe it, but I had such a great time. Even if you come here just for the lovely volunteers who gave us the tour. How much fun they have in their work is something you rarely see elsewhere. Besides, it was also genuinely interesting. Did you know, for example, that windmills turn counterclockwise? I had no idea. This is how you learn something about Dutch culture.

Restaurant Larette
Dinner was served at Restaurant Larette where the inner Carrie Bradshaw in me completely came out. Here you get the feeling as if you are sipping a cosmopolitan in the Big Apple, but then on Veelaan in Amsterdam-East. Now a bit about the food, because I can be brief about that: I ate myself round as a barrel. From a burrata with white asparagus salad, a steak tartare, and a delicious sourdough bread with ndjuabutter to a sole with kale, a spinach salad, and a mega tender tomahawk steak with béarnaise sauce. Normally, I skip dessert, but I simply couldn't say no to the bombolini with dulce de leche cream and the champagne sabayon with honeycomb crumble, you understand.

The College Hotel
I ended the evening at The College Hotel on Roelof Hartstraat. What an entrance you have there: spacious corridors, glass everywhere, and beautifully lit; just as if you are drifting through a little palace. That my hotel room also fit perfectly into that picture was obvious. A towering ceiling, a bath, a view of the city: nothing was missing. And then the bed... If there is a heaven, it is there.
