15x super delicious salad recipes that you want to add to your repertoire immediately

La-la-la, just give us salad! And no, of course not the boring lettuce-tomato-cucumber combination… YAWN. We have much more exciting salads in our repertoire. These are our 15 biggest favorites, so you can add them back to your repertoire.
And with that, you can shine again during the office lunch, barbecue, or camping picnic.
1. A PERFECT PASTA SALAD
I’ll just start with the best of the best: a perfect pasta salad. Who wouldn’t spontaneously cheer for that? Easy to make, it fills you up like crazy, and you can vary endlessly with it. You do need to avoid a few crucial mistakes (never use fresh pasta, for example), but other than that, we just can’t think of any scenarios where this isn’t a success at the table.
2. PANZANELLA
Panzanella is an Italian bread salad. It’s super simple and has a sustainable twist as well, because you can use up your old bread scraps with it. With good olive oil, juicy tomatoes, and bright green basil leaves, you have an amazing meal on the table that immediately transports you to a terrace in the heart of Tuscany.
3. MEAL SALAD WITH PEAR AND GORGONZOLA
Some ingredients that initially seem to have nothing to do with each other turn out to combine fantastically. Take pear and gorgonzola, for example. The sweet juiciness of the pear and the spicy, salty gorgonzola create a party in your mouth. Just imagine how that would taste in a meal salad. Indeed: off to the cheese and fruit vendor as fast as possible.
4. ROASTED BEET SALAD WITH STRACCIATELLA AND HAZELNUTS
Crazy about sweet? Then you should definitely try this roasted beet salad, finished with stracciatella and crunchy hazelnuts. The earthy beets make it a lovely autumn salad, but I also find it delicious on a warm summer day. And it’s a colorful painting on your plate too!
5. SURINAMESE PAPAYA SALAD
In the summer, we often seek out tropical vibes. In that case, this Surinamese papaya salad should not be missing from your summer table. Fruity from the papaya, spicy from the madame Jeannette pepper, herby from the coriander, and a touch of umami from the fish sauce. Each flavor brings out the best in each other and ensures summer in your head.
6. SIMPLE BUT DELICIOUS CAESAR SALAD
It’s perhaps one of the most famous salads: the Caesar salad. Once created by a chef who quickly threw something together with what he had left in the fridge. Could he ever have imagined that we now eat his creation all over the world? Such a classic definitely shouldn’t be missing from our list.
7. NOODLE SALAD WITH SHRIMP AND MANGO
If you can make pasta salad, why not noodle salad too? We’re going for this noodle salad with fresh shrimp and mango. You serve it in a crispy lettuce leaf, which makes this salad just a bit different from other salads. Admittedly, you need some ingredients to get it on the table, but that’s not a problem at all, because you’ll want to make this more often – and then you’ll have a large part of the ingredients at home already.
8. WARM POTATO SALAD (BY JULIUS JASPERS)
Is there a salad that fits the barbecue better than warm potato salad? Okay, maybe after hussar salad. Here in the editorial office, we love Julius Jaspers‘ recipe. Purely because we find it so deliciously creamy, with a bit of sharpness from the onion and mustard. Do you have some left after the barbecue? Lucky you, because you can easily take the leftovers as lunch the next day.
9. SALAD WITH WATERMELON AND MOZZARELLA
A bit in the vein of pear and gorgonzola: watermelon and mozzarella are also a golden (or actually white-pink) combination. In this salad with watermelon and mozzarella, the latter ingredients absolutely steal the show. It’s also delicious to eat on a warm day, because besides a hundred boxes of ice pops, watermelon is the only thing that really cools us down.
10. THE CLASSIC NIÇOISE SALAD
Almost as much of a classic as the Caesar salad: the Niçoise salad. At its core, you taste tuna, eggs, tomatoes, and olives. Originally, it comes from the French city of Nice. I wish my city (Breda) was the birthplace of such a world-famous phenomenon…
11. CHICKPEA SALAD WITH SALMON AND FETA
With this chickpea salad with salmon and feta (created by Mounir Toub), you’ll be full for the rest of the afternoon, I bet? The salmon and chickpeas make the salad mega-filling. With whipped feta, a trend we’ve of course seen many times on social media.
12. FIG SALAD WITH PARMESAN CHEESE
Besides pear-gorgonzola and watermelon-mozzarella, there’s another fruit-cheese combo you definitely want to try: figs and Parmesan cheese. Just taste this fig salad with Parmesan cheese. One of the tastiest recipes from the Salad Bible by Welmoed Benzel, if you ask us. Bonus point: no long shopping list!
13. BLT SALAD WITH SMOKED CHICKEN
We also love salads because they are so easy to take with you. To work, to the campsite, to a picnic… In all cases, we recommend this BLT salad with chicken. That is, indeed, as good as the BLT sandwich in salad form. Pouring something unhealthy into a kind of healthy jacket.
14. THAI BEEF SALAD WITH TOMATOES
When you think of salad, you immediately think of vegetables. In the saddest case, perhaps immediately of the dead triangle of lettuce-tomato-cucumber, but meat can also fit perfectly in a salad. This delicious Thai beef salad proves that. A hearty meal that you can also easily have for dinner. And mark my words: you’ll want to make that dressing with soy sauce, lime, and pul biber more often.
15. MEAL SALAD WITH ROASTED SALMON
Flaky salmon, spicy dressing, and crunchy lettuce: these are the main reasons why they love this meal salad with salmon by Emily Ezekiel. Easy to make, because your oven does part of the work. Her book Meal Salads is definitely one you want to have on your shelf.
