7 original dates from movies that you can beautifully recreate

To be honest, it's been a while since I've had a date. That did give me enough time to think about how I would like to fill it in. Watching a movie is fun, but also a bit standard. Fortunately, you can draw inspiration from those movies for an original activity. We share a number of fun ideas for your next date.
Horseback riding like in ‘The Longest Ride’
Are you both sporty and love animals? Then horseback riding is the perfect date. Just like Luke and Sophia from ‘The Longest Ride’, take a beautiful ride and relax together in nature. You could take a ride through the dunes or through the forest. Who knows, you might just fall in love with your cowboy. It's also a good excuse to buy some nice cowboy boots.
Rent a boat like in ‘The Notebook’
Together in a little boat on the water, away from everything and everyone. That's really quite romantic. Maybe you'll be lucky and encounter ducks or swans just like Allie and Noah. Fortunately, there are plenty of places in the Netherlands where you can rent a boat. It can be a bit chilly in the autumn, but with an extra blanket, it should be just fine. There's something special about seeing nature change like that.
A ‘La La Land’ jazz night
‘La La Land’ is one of the best movies of the past few years, in my opinion. That whole jazzy vibe, delightful. How fun would it be to seek out that feeling during your date? For example, go to a jazz concert or a jazz bar. Enjoy the music and maybe you'll even dare to dance a little. Let's hope for a, spoiler alert, better ending than that of Mia and Sebastian.
From ‘Hitch’: take a cooking workshop together
Just going out to eat is something we know by now. It's much more fun to cook together. That can be cozy at home, but you can also take a professional workshop. It's ideal if neither of you are the greatest stars in the kitchen. An extra advantage of this date: you not only have an activity, but you also get to eat what you made afterwards. If we've learned anything from the romcom ‘Hitch’, it's to discuss each other's allergies beforehand. Can't hurt, right?
Like in ‘Dirty Dancing’: take a dance class
As a dance lover, this seems like a fantastic date to me: taking a dance workshop together. Partner dancing is quite intimate and can bring you closer together, literally and figuratively. It doesn't have to be as spectacular as the lift in ‘Dirty Dancing’. But if you manage that, you'll know for sure that you're a good team. And otherwise, at least you had a good laugh, which is also very important.
Visit an art exhibition like in ‘The Idea of You’
The word exhibition might not immediately make you think of the most fun date. But as Hayes discovered in ‘The Idea of You’, looking at art together can be very special. Everyone takes away a different idea and feeling from art, and you can learn a lot about each other that way. It can be a great conversation starter. There are also many different forms of art, so you can choose exactly what seems interesting to you.
An outdoor movie like in ‘Grease’
If you still want to watch a movie, there are fortunately ways to make that a bit more original. For example, visit an outdoor cinema or a drive-in movie theater. Gather your favorite snacks and bring some blankets, under the stars you'll enjoy the movie. Romantic, right? If it gets too cold, you can always save this idea for the summer.
