Anyone who loves thrillers wants to see this series

I find myself feeling more and more often that I have finished Netflix. My algorithm mainly consists of documentaries, which I love, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a good series among all the true crime or sports documentaries. How refreshing it can be to tap into a new source. One that you didn't know you were looking for, but are so glad you found. In this case, I'm talking about the series on Apple TV+.
I got this series recommended in a group chat, then you know it's good.
You might be tired of all the ‘you have to see this!’ messages, and that's understandable, because it's almost impossible to keep up if you want to have a life besides watching TV. Maybe that's why I was extra interested when the trailer for the series ‘DISCLAIMER*’ was shared. No one said I had to watch it, and so I really want to. A silly psychological thing perhaps, but it might unconsciously relate to the fact that this series is a psychological thriller. Actually, those are the scariest kind of thrillers: there's no blood to be seen anywhere, but no one knows exactly who is crazy and who isn't, and slowly you start to doubt whether you, as a viewer, are not just being completely fooled. Super creepy. In this series, Cate Blanchett plays a well-known journalist, who is totally adored by everyone and showered with awards. She leads a fantastic life, with her successful career, loving husband, beautiful house, etcetera.
But then that package falls on the doormat…
Catherine unsuspectingly receives a package with a book. Out of curiosity, she starts reading it, but to her horror, she quickly realizes that she is the main character in the story. And that story is about her biggest, deepest secret. Her husband, played by Sacha Baron Cohen, becomes increasingly worried as Catherine gets deeper entangled in the mess of her former life. The author of the book is clearly out to reveal Catherine's true nature to the world. In 7 episodes, we are taken into the psychological game being played. Totally confusing and terrifying, as you doubt whether you can still trust your own thoughts. And what should also be said: it is definitely ‘funny’ to see Sacha in a different role now, a lot more serious than Borat.
