Bachelor talk: “Are you team Paul or team Rien?”

Finally, The Bachelor has really started. The first two episodes felt like a kind of warm-up to get to know the participants and the men, but in this third episode, you can feel that some jealousy is starting to brew among the women. The women have been ’assigned’ to Paul or Rien beforehand, but since they have met both men, some of them are starting to doubt who they want to go for. It is openly discussed who is now ’team Paul’ or ’team Rien’. Call me old-fashioned, but I find it a bit strange that they talk about the men as if there will be a winner.

During the house party, it becomes clear to me again why I could never fall for Paul: this man moves like a kind of yeti towards a group of women. He offers one of them a rose: Oelinda no longer has to worry about the rose ceremony. The two next to her are doing their best to keep smiling, but just like in a beauty pageant, you know they are secretly imagining how they can make Oelinda stumble later.

Maybe Beate missed that this program is about a group of women fighting for a man's attention, or did she think she was chosen to be ‘The Bachelorette’? In any case, she is not happy that the men are not fighting over her. I completely agree with Beate: a man should make an effort for you if he is interested in you. But I fear she is also right when she says that she might be on the wrong program.

The funniest moment is when Caitlin is the first woman to receive a second rose. You can feel the shock in the whole group, and a panicked scream: “IS THIS ALLOWED?!”
Yes, Deborah, this is allowed.
