Bachelor talk: This woman has chosen Paul!

Episode 12

The moment has arrived! The day we've all been waiting for: after all those weeks of waiting, analyzing, and discussions with colleagues, we finally get clarity. Paul is going to choose.

Just a mini recap of last week. It hasn't gone unnoticed that Yvonne became quite mean when she was sent away. We weren't the only ones who found that remarkable. Eline, who played the lead role in those false remarks, also found it surprising to see that her former housemate apparently had experienced so many unpleasant things with her. The result of this was that last week both parties threw passive-aggressive TikToks into the world. I recommend everyone to take a look at those, because besides this drama, we also get a glimpse into the backstage situation at the reunion episode.

But now back to what we are really here for: the climax that is approaching. Despite all of Yvonne's mean texts, Eline gets to go on a 24-hour date. She is the first to go and gets to go on safari with Paul. We can see from his posture in the safari vehicle that Paul is still not completely at ease with her. He opts for the ultimate manspread: legs wide and hands on his knees. Just showing his masculinity and marking his territory. I hope the wild animals don't take offense to this. Throughout the entire 24-hour date, I feel like we've accidentally sent two colleagues on vacation together. Extremely awkward conversations about nothing and Paul's interest in Eline has dropped to zero. He doesn't really want to know anything more about her and mainly answers her questions. But I can't blame him, because every time he asks a follow-up question, Eline gives him a copy of his own answer, as if it's an exam where she hopes to give the right answers.

Rien and Femke are once again brushing their teeth together for the ultimate cohabitation experience. There's not really much talking anymore, but that can't be helped, as they've glued their lips together and can only constantly kiss, except for the moments when they run hand in hand along the beach, of course. The last thing we see is Femke being placed on a bed and Rien looking back beastly before he closes the curtains. I hope this isn't a reversed ‘Beauty and the Beast’ story where Femke is held captive by a monster.

Josephine's 24-hour date is a lot more romantic, and I feel more relaxed watching this. They kiss and make jokes. It's really romantic, until the moment Paul says he's ‘going to turn on his poop’, leaving Josephine shocked. He means that he's going to throw a block of wood on the fire. Thank god. The fact that they have to go in a hot air balloon the next day is something I would kindly decline and would rather skip the rose than have to go along with that.

Still, I find myself thinking that Paul is going to choose Eline. He already said earlier that something is growing there, and I just don't feel that he's really ready for a serious relationship, which he would immediately pursue with Josephine. Monica asks Paul just before the choosing moment how he feels. Well, ‘it feels like an end is coming,’ he replies. Well Paul, you got that right, you have to choose. As soon as he starts talking to Eline, and then with Josephine, I see that I was completely wrong. Paul is going for Josephine! From the twinkle in both of their eyes, I can see that he made the right choice. The book that Eline wrote to throw Paul off track didn't work at all, and she walks away disappointed. Paul attacks like a wild animal and almost devours Josephine. It's a good thing he already walks crooked, because bending down will be necessary in his relationship with little Josephine.

Fortunately, we don't have to go cold turkey: we get a tasty preview of the reunion, and I think I'm finally going to get my fill when it comes to drama. I've really missed Beate and am really looking forward to her stern gaze, but also the furious analyses from the other women about kissing moments will thankfully come back into play. Hopefully, that will give me enough satisfaction until I find the next series we can fully immerse ourselves in.
