This Italian ski area is now officially one of the best in the world

By

Italiamo is the site for every Italy lover. Even if you're not heading to Italy, they know how to bring the Italy feeling to you. Here you can read everything about the best pizzas, the undiscovered gems of Italy, but also about the best Italian ski area in the world.

We've said it before: for winter sports, you have to be in Italy. But well, we might be a bit biased. Fortunately, there is now independent confirmation: the international transport platform Omio has declared an Italian ski area one of the best in the world.

The price of a ski pass and other essentials

Omio examined no less than 6,000 ski areas worldwide and based on that a top 10 was compiled. The researchers looked at 11 factors, including: Google rating, the number of kilometers of easy, average, and difficult slopes, the price of a ski pass for adults, youth, and children, the presence of a ski school, and the number of events per year. In total, a ski area could earn 100 points.

And yes, we find an Italian in the Top 10: ski area Madonna di Campiglio\/Pinzolo\/Folgàrida\/Marilleva. The competition was tough, but this region managed to score nearly 90 points, landing a beautiful seventh place. Cortina d’Ampezzo also does well with a thirteenth place. Carezza achieved a respectable 37th place. Even Pescegallo – Valgerola can be proud with a mention in 231st place. We're talking about 6,000 ski areas worldwide, you know. The cheapest ski area in Italy is not included in the list, unfortunately.

Winter sports in Italy is what you want

Skiresort.nl also names Madonna di Campiglio\/Pinzolo\/Folgàrida\/Marilleva as one of the top spots, with a rating of 4.7\/5 stars. Why? The size of the area, the variety of descents of all levels, the snow reliability, the offerings for families, the offerings for advanced skiers, the snowparks, the restaurants, the accommodations, the preparation of the slopes, the friendly staff, the hygiene… They each receive the full five stars.

And we haven't even talked about the charm of winter sports in Italy. Lunching with a large plate of pasta, a grappa or Bombardino to stay warm and a good dose of Italian atmosphere wherever you go. If that is taken into account in the comparisons, Italy would of course be at the top of every list. By the way, if you think: winter sports and warm-blooded Italians, can that go together? We have looked into that for you.
