This is the formula for a successful podcast

Maybe you already knew it, but I am a big fan of podcasts. In fact, I am typing this with the podcast of Aaf and Lies in my ears. They are talking about how Instagram works and that they find it all quite difficult, and I chuckle every now and then between typing. I love those chatty podcasts. You don't need to call me for educational content. Just give me an honest conversation, a little complaint, and a healthy dose of self-mockery. As far as I'm concerned, that is the formula for a successful podcast. As a self-proclaimed podcast expert, I thought it was only fitting to share my ‘must listen’ list for 2024 with you. Believe me: with these podcasts by your side, you're in for a very cozy year.

That’s What Shei Said
Together you are stronger than alone. That is what host Sheida Alhoei emphasizes in every episode. Together with guests like Vivian Hoorn, Jessie Maya, and Eloïse van Oranje, she talks about the everyday chaos of life. In this podcast, everything is up for discussion, but especially very recognizable situations for the modern woman come up, making you feel a little less alone in the world. Listen to this in the car and you will genuinely feel like your best friends are chatting in the backseat: delightful.

Relnichten
Name a more iconic duo than Duncan Tromp and Stijn de Vries. The snippets on Instagram and TikTok already put a smile on your face, and it's no different while listening to the episodes. The two men have conversations together weekly and lay their insecurities, experiences, opinions, and secrets on the table. Everything is discussed without filter, without shame, and without restraint. Because as they say themselves: you are a party animal or you are not.

The Stijn, Tobi and Jeppe Show
Put these men anywhere and I will watch it. Not that I am coming out as a superfan (I am), but something about this combination is just so funny. Every Friday you can celebrate the weekend with these three men while they answer life's questions in a way that will have you rolling with laughter. Need I say more? Just listen to it.

Monday Complaint Day
Complaining is my life elixir. I find it delightful. It's no wonder that I eagerly listen to Monday Complaint Day. In this podcast, Robbert Rodenburg and Daan Hoogervorst drag each other (and you) through the Monday morning, of course not without occasionally venting their own hearts. You just need this in your life, right?

Hot Mess with Alix Earle
The queen of TikTok has recently launched a brand new podcast of her own and I am a fan. This podcast feels like a FaceTime conversation with your best friend where she gives you a weekly update about her life. From drama with friends, relationships, and discussing gossip; nothing is off limits. A big recommendation if you also enjoy listening to English podcasts.
