Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

There is one show that my family really hates when I accidentally flip to it. A show that I never quite know when it airs, but I am still incredibly addicted to it. I can't explain it, it triggers something in me that makes me have to keep watching. It's not necessarily a guilty pleasure, because it's not something to be ashamed of. I just don't understand why I like it so much and that it's worth enduring the sighs and ‘no way’ from bystanders when I sit down to watch it.

On MTV, a reality series about the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is aired regularly (but without a fixed time). Before I knew this series, I had no idea who they were, but I quickly found out that they are the most popular cheerleaders in all of America. The selection process from 2006 to 2021 is still constantly repeated on MTV, and it has been going on for 16 seasons. Sometimes I can really cry along when one of the girls keeps smiling beautifully while tears run down her cheeks when she hears that she is not selected. But as soon as the final team is announced, the series is over. And that while I would love to see how the women ultimately cheer on the field after watching all their training.

Now my prayers have been answered. From June 20, a brand new season of this series will be released on Netflix. The best part is that we can finally continue to watch after the selection rounds, and it even gets quite intense: from torn muscles to broken hips, because the flying split that the women have to repeat time and again takes its toll on everyone. If you've seen the series ‘Cheer’, you'll find this a delightful contrast. While the college cheerleaders are more acrobats, these cheerleaders are mainly focused on dance, with beautiful hair, the cutest outfits, and a choreography that runs perfectly in sync. I won't be able to tear myself away from the TV again.
