Expedition debrief: Kiran is no longer a sweetheart
Episode 12

We have now reached the point where you actually have to constantly keep notes on who is with whom in the alliance, and who is being fooled because they think there is an alliance, while it has actually been unanimously decided that this person is leaving this week. But while we are all busy with strategies and plots, Timor is quietly on Winner Island. According to him, he walks around completely naked on the island all day, and I am sure he hopes we all think ‘OMG, why aren't we seeing this on the broadcast’. But I am grateful to the creators, I have had my share of bare bottoms on TV when Rien decided to prove what a free man he really is in ‘the Bachelor’.
Timor's competitiveness works totally against him
While Timor dreams about what music Beyoncé, Drake, and Chris Brown have released in the meantime (mind you, the chance that one of these artists suddenly released a summer hit is really very small, because summer is marketing-wise very unfavorable and these people are really aware of that), his so-called most loyal follower Joy has gotten into trouble during Timor's absence. Kiran is taking a very strategic approach: win the challenge to strengthen, gain immunity, and see how things stand on Timor's island. But be warned Timor, that constant urge for victory and wanting to show your superiority over the rest is now working quite against you.
Kiran unlocks his false side and has come up with a brilliant plan
My favorite Robinson Kiran (come on, he's a kind of super sweet big teddy bear?) shows his less cute side for the first time. He also sees that Timor no way wants to lose a challenge, and uses that to his advantage. For the show, he participates in the challenge on Winner Island, but he gives up just in time to avoid raising suspicion. Timor does not realize at all that his competitiveness is starting to work against him enormously, and that by continuing to win, he will probably lose the title of Robinson 2024. Because as long as Timor is on Winner Island, they are safe. Kiran even makes Timor look a bit foolish at the island council, which Hamza can greatly appreciate (and yes, I secretly do too...): “he is in his own delusion, on his own island.” And how did Timor react when he won the challenge again? “he was very modest about it,” Kiran says dryly. And that is for everyone clearly a super sarcastic remark. I love Kiran. Now Joy unfortunately has to leave because of Kiran's game. But we can't blame him for being so determined to get the title. He is not an Olympic athlete for nothing. He knows how to win.
