In the mood for an emo night? This is the docu you want to see

By

Amid all the intense true crime documentaries, there are fortunately still moments when you can really relax with a heartwarming story. Because let's be honest, when you come home completely exhausted from work on a Monday evening, you don't always feel like the hysterical TV, the flashy images of montages and reconstructions of how a serial killer could make 10 victims in a year. Sometimes you just want to chill. And then you watch something like National Geographic.

Documentaries featuring animals are definitely one of my favorite genres.

Just as I greatly enjoyed ‘Inside the Mind of a Dog’ on Netflix, I regularly crave some cute animal footage. A snoring pig, for example, love it. But if you also combine that with an emotional man? Guaranteed I'll be sitting in front of the TV crying from tenderness. So I highly recommend starting the new series from National Geographic. Starting tonight, you can watch a new documentary every week at 21:30, of course including a soothing voiceover, beautiful nature footage, and in this case, a super cute otter.

It is a very beautiful and personal story.

It tells the story of Billy, who was missing a bit of happiness in life, despite having a good life with his wife Jade. One day, a somewhat helpless, starving otter washes up on their dock. Billy starts feeding the animal, and the otter keeps coming back. He gives the little creature a name: Molly. It doesn't stop at feeding; Billy and Jade adopt Molly as if she were their own child. And the way this man continues to care for the little creature so lovingly, plus the special bond that forms between them, is indescribable. So definitely enjoy tonight, under your blanket on the couch, with a cup of tea and lots of chocolate. And tissues. Because as I said: emotional men bring tears. At least for me.
