Forget the ice bath
The wellness trends of 2025 are so much better

Ice baths, sleeping with on your mouth; it's mainly about everything that comes after. The extensive evaluations are now temporarily set aside. on your mouth or gratitude exercises. Last year we tried everything to improve our physical and mental health. With 2025 around the corner, that means another new chance to give your life a positive boost. And with TikTok as a kind of non-stop oracle, the list of wellness tips and trends is getting longer by the second. But yes, which ones are worth following? Trend expert Tara Lewis has compiled a list of hacks that will improve our well-being in the coming year.
Me-Time becomes Us-Time
Although it is sometimes wonderful to have a moment for yourself and that will remain so next year, people, according to Lewis, actually need more time with others. “There is a huge demand for unique activities that can take us away from our screens and create new connections outside the home.” A running club, paddle tennis, or cooking, it doesn't matter what you do, as long as it's together. Besides being very enjoyable, it's also good for your (mental) health. Research shows that having deep and purposeful relationships increases the chance of a long life by 50 percent. Not only that, it also provides a positive boost for your emotional and physical well-being. Choosing an activity that is completely new to you gives extra bonus points.
More attention to your gut health (also on-the-go)
It is no longer a secret that your gut does more than just ensure good digestion. It also determines your mood, immunity, and hormones. And that is precisely why gut health is a hot topic. ‘It is clear that people are more curious than ever about where they can find foods and drinks to improve their mind-body connection,” says Lewis. Of course, you can delve into all sorts of supplements, but according to experts, that is not necessarily needed. You can also take good care of your gut without spending too much (extra) money. The most important thing is to ensure a varied diet with enough proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. A good excuse to try all new recipes next year.
Dopamine menus
According to Lewis, happiness is number one in 2025. That’s why many more people are creating their own dopamine menu . A list of activities for different situations and needs but that all have one thing in common: they make you happy. What is on it, you can completely decide for yourself. From a short walk to taking dance lessons, anything goes. This way, you always have something to fall back on amidst all the busy schedules when you could use a bit more relaxation and joy.
Wellness retreats
A vacation to completely escape the stressful work life is always a good idea. But special trips to really focus on your (mental) well-being are expected to become popular next year, according to Lewis. During these special wellness retreats, you will do various activities and workshops to positively change your daily routines and to find more peace in your mind and body. This way, you come back from vacation feeling truly renewed. Of course, you don’t have to book an expensive trip to find that new energy. A wellness staycation works just as well. Just take a day off where you focus on your nutrition and relaxing activities and, importantly, leave that (work) phone for what it is. Wonderful, right?
