Here we are going to get annoyed in Expedition Robinson

Autumn has officially begun, but before we really have to give in to the dark days and constant rain, we can enjoy our annual tropical TV party: Expeditie Robinson is finally back. Although every year there is someone participating that makes you think for a moment: ‘do I know them?’, I must admit that this season I really have more trouble than ever learning names while discovering where I might have seen these VIPs. That doesn't take away from the fact that it's wonderful to watch, and so far I find everyone incredibly nice, sweet, interesting, and happy.
What I like most about this group is that there are a few real boss babes participating. Like Julie Reinders, who we know from the clothing brand Reinders, exceptionally ventures out without her sister. And Kimmylien Nguyen, who set up the largest nail salon chain in Amsterdam, but became a familiar face through her participation in ‘The Real Housewives’. And of course Rikkie Kollé, who changed the world with her win at Miss Netherlands, and continues to advocate for the removal of the stereotyping of trans people.
Expeditie Robinson 2024 started as it should: an exhausting trial, where the big prize is the ‘best’ island. That island is indeed more fertile, so there is simply more food to be found. There is also a large basket of materials ready for building a shelter. Immediately after the first part of the trial, this episode took a dramatic turn: Sergio Hasselbaink felt unwell right after swimming from the boat to shore. To Julie's great irritation, who explained that men are generally huge whiners. Eventually, Sergio returned after the trials, but the label of weakling was already hanging over his head, and he was very aware of that. The chance that he will be sent home first because of this is, of course, very high. To be honest, at one point I was lying there just like Sergio, because those trials seemed to take up half of the episode.
What interests me more is how everyone is still talking about their campmates. So positive and happy, all cozy together. For example, it was said about Billy Dans that it's nice that he makes so many jokes, something along the lines of ‘if you're feeling down, that surely helps’. My gut feeling tells me that his campmates are going to be disappointed. You don't always feel like a funny clown when you're just really grumpy. There's a good chance people are going to get really annoyed. Because yes, that's the best part of Expeditie Robinson as far as I'm concerned: watching how small groups forge bonds at sea, deciding who gets thrown out this week, and then the hassle of what needs to be caught, cooked, and built that day, while the threat of the next elimination round looms. And it seems that the next episode will already be the case sooner than expected.
