In these 6 (vacation) countries, sex toys are 100% prohibited

Sex toys are nice to take with you in your suitcase? Think carefully about that, as they are considered controversial in some countries and are therefore prohibited at certain borders. Think of vibrators, but also other naughty toys, such as vibrating rings or dildos.
You better be sure about what is and isn’t allowed when you travel. And you don’t want to be bright red with shame and embarrassment at customs, do you?
- Saudi Arabia: In this conservative Islamic kingdom, sex toys are prohibited and are considered immoral and against the law.
- United Arab Emirates: Sex toys are also illegal in the UAE due to strict religious and cultural norms.
- Malaysia: Although there is no explicit ban, sex toys are considered obscene and their sale is prohibited. Possession can lead to legal prosecution.
- India: In India, sex toys are prohibited, except for medical purposes. Their sale is considered obscene and can lead to legal consequences.
- Thailand: Although sex toys are popular among tourists in certain parts of Thailand, their sale is actually illegal. They are tolerated in certain areas, but the law is not actively enforced.
- Maldives: On this island, sex toys are illegal and are considered contrary to Islamic law.
Rules about sex toys can change and it is always wise to check local laws before traveling to certain holiday countries. In any case, it is better to check last-minute whether it is allowed and okay outside the EU, or just leave your toys comfortably at home.
