The tastiest Italian delicacies & caterers in Amsterdam

By

Italiamo is the site for every Italy lover. Even if you're not heading to Italy, they know how to bring the Italy feeling to you. Here you can read everything about the best pizzas, the undiscovered gems of Italy, as well as the tastiest Italian delicacies and caterers in Amsterdam.

What would a Dutch city be without places dedicated to Italian delicacies? Niente. In Amsterdam, you don't have to think about that, because there are many more than those I mention in this list. But you can be sure that the delicatessens and caterers listed below are great for a snack table to impress (usually my goal for the visit), a night without cooking but with fantastic food, or a night of cooking with ingredients as if you just picked them from Italy (which is also true, even if you didn't do it all yourself).

Italian delicacies in Amsterdam

Casa del Gusto
This is the kind of place I go to without a plan and come home with a wallet that is three times lighter. But then there are amazing cheeses on the table, fine wines, and typical Italian things that the owners have personally sourced from Italy. A visit to the store feels like a little vacation.
Casa del Gusto – Kerkstraat 121, Amsterdam

Terre Lente
Terre Lente means ‘slow land’ and that makes this delicatessen shop in the Jordaan absolutely worth it. You mainly find products from the slowest part of Italy: the south, where the Calabrian owner comes from. Also nice: you can take a coffee break in the corner by the window.
Terre Lente – Westerstraat 55, Amsterdam

Basilico Fish & More
Also in the Jordaan and also from the south, but with products from Puglia. Basilico Fish & More is a bit more of a caterer, where you let them do the prep work for you and take home ready-made but fresh pizza, pasta, and other snacks.
Basilico Fish & More – Willemsstraat 29A, Amsterdam

La Bottega by Chiara’s Food
Shame on me, but this is an Italian delicatessen that I have had at the top of my to-do list for years, yet I still haven't been. Somehow it seems to me to be one of the most fun little Italian shops. Whether I'm looking for something or not, all the Italian products I want always lead me online to La Bottega by Chiara’s Food. Wines, pistachio paste, spicy stuff, panettone, the most beautiful food boxes with everything you didn't know you wanted.
La Bottega by Chiara’s Food – Van Woustraat 201H, Amsterdam

Alberto Pozzetto
A cozy little shop that is not only packed with delicious products but also with people, including many Italians. You can pick up a daily Italian grocery here, but also top sandwiches and good coffee for a quick break.
Alberto Pozzetto – Eerste van der Helststraat 57, Amsterdam

Salumeria Italiana
Just looking at the window of Salumeria Italiana makes you greedy, where an extensive collection of products is always displayed. This delicatessen is the place for countless types of pasta, but you go to a salumeria for one thing in particular: Italian cold cuts.
Salumeria Italiana – Kinkerstraat 21, Amsterdam

Renzo’s
If you come here with a purpose, you will definitely be thrown off by everything that is in the cooling under the counter. Besides Italian delicacies, you come to Renzo’s for sandwiches, until you suddenly see that there are trays full of dishes that you want to take home and that will save you from cooking for the coming week.
Renzo’s – Van Baerlestraat 67 & Johannes Verhulststraat 110, Amsterdam

Toscanini Deli
Did you know that one of our favorite restaurants in Amsterdam also has a delicatessen? At the Deli, all the imported products from Italy that you can think of are displayed in shelving units, but you will also find fresh pasta and sauces from the kitchen that does it best.
Toscanini Deli – Lindengracht 75, Amsterdam

Salvatorica
Here you actually get almost nothing but pasta, but I still want to mention it since I also praise caterers here. The whole shop is focused on one thing and looks like a kind of lab where pasta is made. You get it here super fresh and super good. Then you know where the focus lies. You can also eat your pasta on-site.
Salvatorica – Lijnbaansgracht 71, Amsterdam

Feduzzi
One of the first Italian delicatessens that is still proudly present in the Rivierenbuurt. They make the fresh pasta, sandwiches, and tapenade themselves, and you can also make a pit stop for coffee. Speaking of that fresh pasta: always take lasagna and stock up on ravioli from the freezer.
Feduzzi – Scheldestraat 63, Amsterdam
