This character will not return in And Just Like That

If you thought that the creators of a TV series never listen to fans and viewers, this will change your mind. For a long time, I thought this too, when I was still watching Pretty Little Liars. I thought back then: this can't be the intention.? Don't the creators see all the plot holes that we see? Seriously, they are just doing it on purpose... But with the better series, they do listen to the audience.

So also with And Just Like That, where we will no longer see a prominently featured character in the third season: Che Diaz is no more. Viewers have wanted this for a while, as it has never really been a beloved character. Not funny, quite annoying, and it brought out the worst in Miranda — that was a bit of the general consensus when it comes to Che.

Actor Sara Ramirez portrayed the character for two seasons, and the farewell hit the actor (who uses they/them pronouns) quite hard. According to Ramirez, the dismissal mainly came because they spoke out about their support for Palestine, and Hollywood wants to blacklist actors who are pro-Palestine.

However, insiders say it is quite different. They tell the Daily Mail that the character would be a ‘waste of screen time’ and ‘annoying’. Che would simply ‘no longer be of value in the series’ and ‘had their head on the proverbial chopping block since last season’. I find that last part quite believable, as the relationship between Che and Miranda had of course (finally) fallen apart.

Now the question is: who will be Miranda's new love interest? Or will she go back to Steve? It does make me very curious about the third season again...
