The 10 most used excuses by cheaters

Cheaters can be incredibly sly and sneaky, but originality is often lacking. In fact, affairs are often full of clichés. And because of that, you can catch them more easily, as it turns out that cheaters mainly use the same excuses. Of course, it could be that your partner uses these texts and it is really the truth, but if you can cross off all ten, it might be time to raise the alarm.

1. ‘You're crazy!’
Especially placing the problem on the other, while the cheater knows very well that he/she is the one in the wrong. Cliché.

2. ‘I'm with my friends’
Nope, you're with your mistress or lover.

3. ‘He/She is just a friend’
The cliché of clichés...

4. ‘It meant nothing’
I always find it so strange to say – it's a commonly used phrase by cheaters. Because what exactly do you mean by this? That you betray someone's trust and ruin a relationship over something that means nothing? I'd rather it actually meant something.

5. ‘I was seduced’
Free will suddenly doesn't exist when it comes to cheating?

6. ‘There's nothing wrong/I’m not being distant’
You often notice something about your partner; you feel more distance, the atmosphere is different... But still, they insist that nothing is wrong. Hm-hm.

7. ‘I'm not in the mood’
And there's a good chance your sex life suffers too, although the real reason rarely comes to light.

8. ‘I didn't cheat’
During a confrontation (without evidence), it often happens that it is simply flatly denied.

9. ‘Technically, this wasn't cheating’
A typical case of trying to make it right. ‘The kiss didn't even last one second.’ ‘It was just messages, nothing happened.’ But remember: if a line has been crossed for you, that's the most important thing.

10. ‘But I love you’
Well, it's a bit late for that, isn't it?
