The best tip for an alcohol-free weekend

Although I can greatly enjoy a good glass of wine, an ice-cold beer, or a refreshing gin and tonic, I have also become aware lately that alcohol is not exactly a necessary element for a healthy lifestyle. There are various campaigns running to make us aware of the fact that alcohol is harmful and that we really need to consider the long-term effects if we drink a glass regularly.

The tricky part is that we have all learned that alcohol equals coziness. The same goes for me: I find it incredibly festive to pour myself a glass of wine on Saturday, late in the afternoon, in the sun on the balcony ‘because I deserve it after this busy week.’.

I really didn't know where to start on the alcohol-free path. A glass of cola or sparkling water, that is empty within three minutes, because I drink that kind of thing when I'm thirsty. Don't ask me for recipes for alcohol-free cocktails; the only thing I can make is a gin and tonic (with alcohol), so if it has to be without alcohol, I just pour you a tonic. Nowadays, however, there are very festive alcohol-free options, precisely because more and more people want to enjoy fun parties and social moments alcohol-free. That's how I came across World of NIX, an online store where everything is alcohol-free, including that bottle of tequila. In short: it's going to be a lovely alcohol-free Saturday night, allowing you to wake up fresh and early on Sunday morning for an early morning yoga session. You’re welcome!
